In the heart of Korea, during my final year in college back in 2019, the spark for SOUYOUNG was ignited. The idea didn't come from a grand revelation but from the everyday conversations I had with the women around me. They often lamented the high prices of renting a dress that could only be worn once, a fleeting moment of beauty that came with a hefty price tag.
It was during these discussions that I noticed a rising trend of upcycling wedding dresses, giving them a second life. This trend resonated deeply with me and got me thinking: what if wedding dresses were designed with versatility in mind? What if they could transition seamlessly from bridal wear to ready-to-wear pieces, extending their life and value beyond a single event?

Driven by this idea, I set out to design bridal pieces that could be worn in layers, allowing each piece to be a part of regular wardrobes. These designs cater to the modern and alternative brides who seek unique and unconventional bridal wear that isn't typically found in traditional bridal boutiques. SOUYOUNG was born from the desire to offer something different, something that speaks to the individuality and style of each bride.
